Sean Poppy is an Education Program Specialist II. He uses native animals, mostly reptiles and amphibians, as props to introduce school children of all ages to the wonders of nature. He customizes his presentations to complement the grade-specific curriculum used in local schools. Sean also directs the popular "Ecologist for a Day" programs which take place during the school year at SRELís Conference Center near New Ellenton. Classes spend the day in the field, checking traps and gathering scientific data. During the summers he takes his message to civic groups and makes presentations at libraries. He also represents SREL and its programs at festivals and other public gatherings as time allows throughout the year. For more information on the SREL Outreach program, please visit the SREL Outreach Program website.
